Women’s Conference: Speaker Bios

So who are the leaders that will be presenting on June 7 at the Mirro Center for the 2019 First Fridays Fort Wayne Women’s Conference?  Here they are:

Elizabeth MacDonald

img_6760Elizabeth (Nulf) MacDonald is a speaker, consultant, and founder of The Verbal Edge, which is located in Fort Wayne and Tampa Bay, Florida.

She is also an author: Her book, Sharpen Your Verbal Edge:101 Tips to Enhance Your Professional Communication Skills is an assortment of bite-sized tips addressing presentation skills, networking, the power of words, and grammar essentials. The book was published a year ago, and several companies have purchased it for their staffs.

Passionate about equipping professionals who are already good communicators to be even better, Elizabeth provides consultations to individuals and presents customized communication skills workshops to staffs and teams.

Her background includes:

  • TV reporting, anchoring, and hosting talk shows in Fort Wayne and Norfolk/Virginia Beach
  • Communication specialist for Fort Wayne Community Schools
  • Teaching high school English (at South Side).

Elizabeth graduated from Indiana University at Fort Wayne with a B.S. in Education–focusing on sociology, history and English. She completed her Master’s work and graduate orals in Broadcast Communication at San Francisco State University and interned at KPIX-TV in San Francisco.

She is married to Greg MacDonald. They have two grown daughters and a German Shepherd named Dinah.

 

Dr. Angela LaSalle

Dr. Angela LaSalleAngela LaSalle M.D., ABoIM is the Medical Director of Parkview Physician’s Group Integrative Medicine for Parkview Health System in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. LaSalle was one of only 121 integrative medicine physicians nationally to obtain the inaugural certification through the American Board of Integrative Medicine and has studied with Andrew Weil, M.D. at University of Arizona, the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Metabolic Medicine Institute.

Dr. LaSalle also has two degrees in nursing and prior to her medical career, worked as an RN in Surgery and Burn Unit. She is an author and frequent keynote speaker on the topics of thyroid issues, hormone imbalances, auto-immunity and the role of nutrition in inflammatory diseases.

Leslee HillLeslee Hill is the Director, Women’s Entrepreneurial Opportunity Center (WEOC). She joined The NIIC (Northeast Indiana Innovation Center) in February 2018. Most recently, she owned and operated her own company for the past four years. She also worked as a Product Developer for companies such as Spiegel Catalog, Icelandic Design and Vera Bradley. After leaving corporate America, she worked for a local start-up before starting her own company.

Leslee earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Ball State University in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design and minored in Marketing. She gained her Image Consulting and Color Analysis certifications in 2014. Her international travel has provided an education beyond degrees, yet her passion to help other surpasses her knowledge.

At the top of our website, you will a link that reads “2019 Women’s Conference Info”.

When you click on that, you will see the times of the conferences and a link to register.

When you click on that, it will take you to the registration site.  If you are a member of Greater Fort Wayne, Inc., use your sign-on to enter the registration site.  If you are not, click on the other option.

On the registration page, click on the drop down to:

  • register for a seat
  • register to reserve a vendor table for your company/org
  • register to reserve a table in the event hall for guests of your company/org

Preparing for the Future

preparing for the futureThis morning, we will take one more step toward our 2019 Women’s Event as I will be meeting with another dynamic leader/speaker.  We will be announcing our  speaker line-up within the next month or so.  Jan Diaz is leading a team who will work hard to make this event meaningful and impacting.

We are so excited about the possibilities!  

Jere and I spoke yesterday, and we are starting to talk about Season 3 as well.  We have some new ideas in store.  We have been blessed to have such dynamic leaders in NE Indiana.  First Fridays is committed to adding value to our regional leaders!
