I came across this today. My son had to write a short paper a couple of years ago in school. I’ll take this endorsement any time!
If you want to know the heart and passion behind First Fridays, my son captured it in his paper…
My favorite leader is my dad. He had the courage to influence others, by creating a business where he helps everyday citizens, become confident with what they do. The business is non-profitable (love this!) and meets once every month. He brings in some of Fort Wayne’s top leaders and lets them help others. He is fearless of meeting new people.
A few months ago he went down to Canada to speak at a university in front of hundreds of people. He has integrity, because he loves doing his job but, he also has the integrity to help others learn and grow as leaders.
He is amazing at communicating. He gets the message out to people, that no matter where they work, no matter if they don’t have a job, they can still be great leaders in their community. When they meet they talk about how to lead others to become leaders.
He and my uncle were having a get together, and they said they wanted to have the community grow as leaders. They have been extremely successful and are still working hard to get new leaders in the community. He has been very supportive of people when they feel they aren’t doing a good enough job at work. He ran the student counsel at Haverhill elementary, and talked to us about how we can be leaders at school. He would also be glad to come in and talk to our class about leadership sometime. (I gave you his card).
Register today for our kick-off event with John Urbahns, CEO of Greater Fort Wayne, Inc.
So how do you find the Kachmann Auditorium – our new location for Season 3? Watch this:
If you enter the Lutheran Hospital complex from the main entrance off of Jefferson Blvd., turn left at the first 4-way stop.
You will drive past the ENT office on your left and the South Campus parking garage will be on your right. There is also an open-air parking lot adjacent to the Heart Center. Please do not park close the Heart Center’s entrance. Save that for patients!
And remember: NOfood or drinks (including coffee) are allowed in the Kachmann Auditorium. We will honor this rule!
Greater Fort Wayne Inc. values the thoughts and contributions of all people and understand that inclusion is critical to sustainable economic development. It is through our diverse culture that we can attract the best employees, empower our customers, and help our communities achieve great things.”
For many of us, we have worked, lived, and connected in the Fort Wayne area for years and yet we know just a little about what our local chamber does day in and day out for our community.
Season 3 is kicking off with John Urbahns, CEO of Greater Fort Wayne, Inc. If you want the full story of what GFW does to help our area grow and prosper, then join us on September 6 to hear directly from John.
For those of us who attended this year’s GFW Annual Meeting, we celebrated all the great things GFW has worked on and saw the goals of what is to come. As a leader in the greater Fort Wayne community, you need to become aware of the fabulous resources and advocates we have here in GFW.
Join First Fridays Fort Wayne on September 6 to get your “front row seat” to our future. It will be a valuable time investment.
Remember: First Fridays Fort Wayne has moved its location to the Kachmann Auditorium on the campus of Lutheran Hospital (for directions, click here).
First Fridays Fort Wayne is growing! We have appreciated Indiana Wesleyan University for allowing us to meet on their Fort Wayne campus for our first 2 Seasons. But we have consistently been at 89% – 90% capacity. We have been searching for a new, larger venue and we have found it. And it is off the same I-69 exit!
Starting on September 6, First Fridays Fort Wayne will begin meeting at the Kachmann Auditorium at Lutheran Hospital!
Lutheran has been very gracious and open to this idea. The Kachmann Auditorium will facilitate our growth for some time to come!
Many do not know about this great facility is at Lutheran. How do you get to the Kachmann Auditorium?
The best way to get to it is by entering Lutheran from the south side of their campus. There is a covered parking garage attached to Lutheran with a covered walk-way. Or you can enter the building from the circle drive (see below). This building is identified as “Medical Office Building Two”. There is an uncovered parking lot across the lane from this entrance that can be used as well.
You can find this entrance by seeing it on the Lutheran Hospital campus map. The south entrance is circled below.
Once you are on the 1st floor, you’ll find the stairs to the lower level in the large lobby area:
You can take the stairs to the adjacent elevators to the lower level (same level as the cafeteria).
(you will see this entrance at the bottom of the stairs from the 1st floor and just off the elevator lobby in the lower level)
We will have people and signs posted to help direct you to the Kachmann Auditorium.
This move will give you a parking garage conveniently connected to the south entrance. There is additional parking outside in front of the Lutheran Heart Center to the south of the south entrance.
We so appreciate Lutheran for opening this facility to us. It is a community gem! You will enjoy the theater-type seats that are equipped with a fold-over desk for convenience in note taking.
We will open registration in August on Eventbrite. We anticipate a large crowd, so register as soon as you see the announcement. John Urbahns, CEO of Greater Fort Wayne, Inc. will be our kick-off presenter. You will not want to miss this exciting presentation!
