Read to Become Better

At this past First Friday’s meeting, I shared with you that I’m going to be encouraging you to read this year. Let me make something very clear about this reading challenge.

We live in a great age where reading is actually easier and more assessable than ever before. If you love books as I do, you can get books at your library, used books on Amazon.com, or find them at your local bookstore. But you don’t have to just read books. Reading can take many forms:

  • Audio books
  • Blogs
  • Magazines
  • Newsletters

The concept here is that when a leader reads, he or she is exposing themselves to new ideas that make them think. Next to being mentored I cannot think of a better way to learn and grow as an adult.

So take the time this week to expose yourself to a fresh idea. 10 to 15 minutes a day is probably all it’s going to take. What a great investment you can make in yourself to help yourself become better.
