Read to Become Better

At this past First Friday’s meeting, I shared with you that I’m going to be encouraging you to read this year. Let me make something very clear about this reading challenge.

We live in a great age where reading is actually easier and more assessable than ever before. If you love books as I do, you can get books at your library, used books on, or find them at your local bookstore. But you don’t have to just read books. Reading can take many forms:

  • Audio books
  • Blogs
  • Magazines
  • Newsletters

The concept here is that when a leader reads, he or she is exposing themselves to new ideas that make them think. Next to being mentored I cannot think of a better way to learn and grow as an adult.

So take the time this week to expose yourself to a fresh idea. 10 to 15 minutes a day is probably all it’s going to take. What a great investment you can make in yourself to help yourself become better.
