Inaugural First Fridays Event

Today, November 3, 2017, was our inaugural First Fridays event.  Nearly 70 leaders met at Indiana Wesleyan University’s Fort Wayne campus to network and hear from two dynamic leaders from the Northeast Indiana Regional PartnershipKate Virag & Kylee Shirey.

We learned about the many initiatives that the Partnership has been working on and continues to lead in.  Initiatives such as the “Road to One Million“.  What is this?  The Partnership explains:

The Road to One Million represents our vision to grow our population
from 789,015 to 1,000,000 residents. We know that with our current
population trends and growth rate, our total population could grow by
about 53,000 people over the coming decade. Due to the impact of
retiring Baby Boomers and lagging growth among Millennials, our labor
force will actually shrink and our gross domestic product and wages
will stagnate. The residents of Northeast Indiana know we can, and must, do better.

Before and after, our area leaders networked and connected.  The purpose behind First Fridays was presented and an overview of upcoming events was shared.
